The Swag was one of the first DarkSky Approved Lodging properties on the entire East Coast, perched nearly a mile above sea level on the border of Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The mountaintop location gives 360-degree sky views, and the property's dark sky lighting standards ensure the Milky Way is visible to the naked eye on clear nights. Stargazing sessions with the Astronomy Club of Asheville and on-site telescopes are available for guests. One of the most distinctive dark sky lodging experiences in the eastern United States.
