Truly dark sky, with the zodiacal light clearly visible.
Sinks Canyon is a certified dark sky park in the Wind River Range foothills west of Lander, Wyoming. The canyon takes its name from the Popo Agie River, which disappears into a limestone cave at the bottom of the canyon and reappears downstream. The park sits in a narrow mountain valley that blocks horizon glow from most directions, and the surrounding Wind River Range has minimal development for miles. It is a compact and accessible dark sky site with strong mountain scenery.
