Natural Bridges National Monument
Truly dark sky, with the zodiacal light clearly visible.
The world's first International Dark Sky Park, certified in 2007. Sits on a remote plateau in southeastern Utah with no significant light source for many miles in any direction. The Milky Way is bright enough here to cast a faint shadow on a moonless night. Three massive natural sandstone bridges frame the sky overhead. The campground fills quickly on weekends. Ranger programs include evening astronomy events in summer.
