Medicine Rocks is a certified International Dark Sky Sanctuary in the high plains of southeastern Montana, a landscape of sandstone pillars and prairie that sees almost no visitor traffic and even less artificial light. The park is one of the most remote certified dark sky sites in the northern Plains, and the combination of unusual rock formations and genuinely dark skies makes it worth the drive for serious stargazers. Ekalaka is the nearest town, population under 400.
