The first International Dark Sky Park in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, Keweenaw sits at the remote northern tip of the Keweenaw Peninsula surrounded by Lake Superior on three sides. The extreme northern latitude puts it among the best spots in the Midwest for aurora viewing, and the lodge at Keweenaw Mountain Lodge provides accommodations directly within the dark sky park boundary, one of the few places in the country where you can sleep inside a certified dark sky park.
