Goosenecks State Park
Truly dark sky, with the zodiacal light clearly visible.
A small, often overlooked park on the rim above one of the most dramatic river meanders in North America. The San Juan River has cut 1,000 feet into the canyon floor in a series of tight loops visible from the rim. Almost no facilities, no entrance fee, population of the nearest town roughly 30 people. It doesn't get more remote than this. The lack of amenities is precisely why the skies are this dark.
